For landscapers, pool installers & contractors

Stone and porcelain, cut and finished off-site.

Have your supplier deliver straight to our Cheshire workshop. We cut, mitre and bullnose every piece to your drawings, then send it to site ready to install.

The service

Fabricated off-site. Ready when your site needs it.

Not every piece needs to be fabricated on site.

For planned work, production runs and larger fabrication packages, our Cheshire workshop gives us the space, machinery and capacity to process natural stone and porcelain efficiently in a controlled environment.

Material can be delivered directly to us from your supplier. We work from drawings, schedules, supplied dimensions or templates, fabricate each piece to the agreed specification, then prepare the completed work for collection or onward delivery to site.

With four wetsaws, an in-house bullnose machine and specialist hand-held equipment, we can handle everything from straightforward cutting through to mitres, bonded pieces, profiled edges, copings, steps and bespoke details.

The result is less fabrication happening around your live project and more material arriving ready for your team to install.

Workshop capability

Built for more than one piece at a time.

Our Acton Bridge workshop allows us to take on one-off details, repeat pieces and complete fabrication packages in porcelain and natural stone.

Why workshop fabrication?

More capacity. Less work happening on your site.

Where dimensions and specifications can be established before fabrication begins, completing the work at our workshop can be faster and more efficient than carrying out the same process on site.

/ 01

Higher production capacity

With multiple machines permanently set up in the workshop, we can process larger quantities of material without repeatedly setting up and breaking down equipment on site.

/ 02

A controlled working environment

Cutting, profiling, bonding and hand finishing take place in an environment designed for fabrication, rather than alongside other trades and live construction work.

/ 03

Less disruption on site

Material arrives fabricated to specification, reducing the amount of cutting, machinery, waste and finishing activity required during installation.

/ 04

Consistent finishing

Repeat pieces can be worked through together, helping maintain consistent dimensions, profiles and hand-finished edges across the complete package.

/ 05

Keep your programme moving

Your site team can continue with the build while fabrication is taking place in Cheshire, with completed material scheduled around the installation programme.

How it works

Deliver. Fabricate. Finish. Dispatch.

A straightforward route from raw material to finished pieces.

01

Send the specification

Send us your drawings, cutting schedules, dimensions, templates or project information.

We'll review the material, quantities, edge profiles and fabrication requirements before work begins.

02

Deliver the material

Material can be delivered directly to our Cheshire workshop by you or your stone and porcelain supplier.

This means it does not need to travel to the project before fabrication takes place.

03

Fabricate

Each piece is cut, mitred, profiled, bonded or shaped to the agreed specification using our workshop equipment.

We work across natural stone and porcelain and can combine several fabrication processes within the same package.

04

Finish

Exposed edges and fabricated details are checked and finished by hand.

Mitred and bonded pieces are aligned and inspected before leaving the workshop.

05

Collect or deliver to site

Completed pieces can be collected or arranged for onward delivery to the project ready for installation.

Workshop or on-site?

The right route for the job.

Both services have their place.

Workshop fabrication is normally the most efficient option when the project can be accurately specified before cutting begins.

It works particularly well when:

  • Drawings or reliable dimensions are available
  • Repeat pieces or production quantities are required
  • Material can be delivered directly from the supplier
  • The project needs multiple fabrication processes
  • Site space is limited
  • Cutting and finishing on site would interrupt other trades
  • The installation programme requires pieces to arrive ready to fit
  • A consistent finish is required across a complete package

On-site fabrication can be the better option when the finished structure needs to be measured directly, dimensions vary significantly or individual pieces need checking and adjustment as they are fitted.

For some projects, we use both: templating or measuring on site followed by fabrication back at our Cheshire workshop.

Not sure which route your project needs?

Send us the drawings, quantities and material specification and we'll confirm the most practical way to fabricate the package — in the workshop, on site or both.

Typical workshop projects

From repeat pieces to complete fabrication packages.

Our workshop is set up for residential, landscape and commercial fabrication work.

Typical projects include:

  • Porcelain pool copings
  • Natural stone pool copings
  • Bullnosed and mitred steps
  • Treads and risers
  • Wall caps and coping stones
  • Raised beds and planter caps
  • Landscape detailing
  • Mitred downstands
  • Bespoke corners and returns
  • Large-format porcelain pieces
  • Architectural stone details
  • Commercial fit-out pieces
  • Repeat cuts and profiled components
  • One-off bespoke fabrication

Whether the job involves five pieces or a complete package, the same specification is carried through the workshop.

Who we work with

Fabrication support for the people building the project.

Workshop fabrication is particularly suited to trades and professionals who need reliable off-site production without investing in specialist fabrication equipment themselves.

Landscapers and landscape contractors

Send us paving, porcelain or natural stone for steps, copings, wall caps and bespoke landscape details.

We fabricate the pieces while your team continues with the build, ready for installation when required.

Pool and spa installers

Pool surrounds often involve repeat copings, curved sections, bullnosed edges, steps and matching wall caps.

We can fabricate complete coping packages from supplied drawings, dimensions or templates.

Commercial fit-out contractors

Where a project requires repeated or specification-led fabrication, the workshop provides a controlled route for cutting, profiling, mitres and bespoke pieces before material reaches the site.

Architects and designers

We can work from drawings and specification information to produce bespoke stone and porcelain details for residential, hospitality, leisure and commercial projects.

Developers and main contractors

For larger or programme-sensitive projects, off-site fabrication reduces specialist cutting work taking place within the live construction environment and allows finished material to be scheduled around installation.

Made to specification

One workshop. Several fabrication processes.

A package rarely involves only one type of work. That is where workshop fabrication becomes particularly useful. A single project might require us to:

Cut

pieces to specific dimensions

Mitre

corners, returns or downstands

Profile

aris, chamfer or bullnose edges

Bond

steps, downstands and returns

Finish

visible edges by hand

Coordinate

repeat pieces as part of the same installation package

Instead of sending material to several suppliers, the fabrication can be managed through one workshop.

Materials

Porcelain and natural stone.

We fabricate both porcelain and natural stone across a range of formats and thicknesses.

The exact fabrication route depends on the material, thickness, edge detail and finished application.

If the material has already been specified, send us the manufacturer and product details with your enquiry.

If you are unsure whether a particular material can be cut, mitred or profiled, send us the specification or photographs and we will advise before the material is delivered.

I've had the pleasure of Dan working with us on numerous projects to produce bespoke tiles for us. Some with bullnosed edges and some with downstands, his work is always really high quality and really good turnaround time.

Questions

Before you send the drawings.

Can my supplier deliver the material directly to you?

Yes. Material can be sent directly to our Cheshire workshop for fabrication. Provide the project details before arranging delivery so we can coordinate the material with the job specification.

Do you only take large workshop jobs?

No. We handle individual bespoke pieces as well as repeat work and larger fabrication packages.

Can you work from architectural or construction drawings?

Yes. We can work from drawings, cutting schedules, supplied dimensions and physical templates. Where dimensions need to be taken from the finished structure, we can also discuss on-site templating.

Can you fabricate the material and send it directly to site?

Yes. Completed material can be prepared for collection or onward delivery once fabrication is complete.

What can be done in the workshop?

Our in-house capabilities include cutting, mitres, bonded pieces, bullnosing, edge profiling, steps, copings, wall caps and bespoke fabrication in porcelain and natural stone.

What if the job needs specialist or large-format cutting?

For pieces outside the capacity of standard workshop cutting, we work with a specialist waterjet cutting partner and manage the fabrication and finishing around that process.

Is workshop fabrication better than on-site fabrication?

It depends on the project. Where dimensions can be confirmed accurately before fabrication, workshop production is normally the more efficient option. On-site fabrication is better where the finished build itself needs to dictate the final dimensions or where pieces require adjustment during fitting.
