What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things between visits — for example, your preferences or how you reached the site.

Cookies this site sets

There is no login and no shopping basket, so we set no cookies to run the site itself.

We would like to use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether enquiries are being sent. It sets cookies in your browser, usually named _ga and _ga_<container>, which tell one visitor apart from another. They typically last up to two years. We use this only to improve the site. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell the data.

Analytics only runs if you accept it. The first time you visit we ask. Until you choose Accept, nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookie is set. Declining costs you nothing — the site behaves exactly the same.

You can change your choice at any time. Choosing Reject also clears any analytics cookies already set. Your decision is remembered in your browser's local storage so we don't have to ask on every page.

You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Measurement without cookies

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without setting any cookies, without storing anything on your device and without tracking you between sites. Because it stores nothing, it runs for every visitor and is not covered by the choice above. It tells us how many people visit and which pages they read — nothing that identifies you.

Third-party requests

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This is a request to Google's servers but does not set cookies on this site.

The contact page includes an embedded Google Map. When that page loads, Google may set cookies of its own — how Google uses them is covered by Google's cookie policy, and you can manage them in your browser as described below.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Guidance for most browsers is available at aboutcookies.org.
